A Letter of Remembrance, read at her funeral

Mama Sue
On Sunday April 3, 2011 the world lost an amazing woman but Heaven received an even more amazing soul.
My mom is the strongest most loving person I have ever met.  She loves with all of her heart, no holding back.  She can cry at the drop of a hat and she is as feisty as they come.  Very set in her simple ways but always has a giving heart.  Known by most as a Best Friend and more importantly Mama Sue…Your grandchildren are so blessed to have known you for even a short time.
Sandra, her sister, always by her side, no matter who came and went there was no question the other would always be there.  Jack, her baby brother, who she adored inside and out.  Don’t be sad, she is with Mama & Daddy and they are dancing in heaven together again.
Robbie, her first born, a fighter from the start.  She always knew you would make her proud and be the Man that you have become.  Thank you for making her laugh and being her shining star.  When you went away to the Army she was the proudest I’ve ever seen.  And when you went to work at Lockheed, the three years she was able to spend with you were a gift from God to both of you.   She relied on you as the man of the house, and you did her proud.    I know she was so relieved yesterday when my car battery died and you were there to rescue me.  You are mom’s Hero.
Nick, her baby, her favorite companion and the light of her life.  Nick, she always knew you’d be the anchor of the family after she was gone...you have the most important life events still to come and she will be smiling from above so happy to see the Man that you’ve become.  Mom was so proud you chose to attend Tarleton State University, her Alma Mater.  Nick, she adored the days she spent just you and her alone in a room, without a word needing to be said.  The respect that you two have for one another is an amazing thing to see.
Lisa and Sheila, she loves you as daughters.  I know she is so happy you were with us in her final hours and is relying on you to take care of us all in the journey ahead.  She is so proud of you both.
A  Beloved mother in law who defied the title…Heath and Jen, she knows you will carry her kids through their grief and is thankful to have had you in her life.  She couldn’t have picked better parents to her grandchildren.  She loved when you called to tell her about your day or to discuss the latest Cowboys vs Texans score.  You made the last eight years of her life, that much more special.
To the rest of her family and her friends, too many to name, thank you for constantly supporting her through the ups and downs of her life.  She loves each and every one of you, and heartfelt thanks from her kids for giving so much to our mother throughout the years.
Mom, I know how proud of me you are.  I will strive to be as good to my children and those around me as you have taught me to be through your actions.  You taught me the art of parenting is to parent each of your children to their specific personalities, never comparing one to the other and appreciating everyone’s unique self.  You are my very best friend, my anchor, my home.  My heart and soul aches to see you again someday.
I know you want us to celebrate your life and when we are sad we will remember your funny quirks and sweet memories: your squeals of excitement during a football game, your infamous saying “Cool, Cool”, your Thanksgiving dressing and your AMAZING heart.
Goodbye and Thank you.   I Love You, Roni
