Comments from her obituary

April 08, 2011
Sue was just a one-in-a-million kind of person... She was kind and caring and always had time for you. I was blessed to have worked with her...
April 08, 2011
Sue was the most caring, nuturing human being I ever had the honor of working with. She looked out for her people and understood how to administer "tough love" when she needed to. She always spoke of her children out of care and concern for their well-being, and expressed such joy sharing news of their achievements. I will always carry my admiration and appreciation for Sue with me wherever I go in life. She had that kind of impact on so many of us.

I will always remember walking the streets of Ankara, Turkey, going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the subway in London and the train ride in Germany, swimming the the Carribean and gaming in Las Vegas with Sue. She was a great friend to work with and travel with. She will always be with me on my adventures. To Roni, Nick and Robbie my door is always open and the light will be on for all of you anytime. Sue was a lovely lady and will be missed.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Robbie, Roni, & Nick - The first time I met your mother, it was evident she had instilled her spirit in all of her children. She was so welcoming and I felt like I had known her all of my life. I know there are no words to ease the sorrow felt, but rest assured, she is with the angels keeping a watchful eye on all those she loved.

Sue’s Family - The news of your loss spread quickly among those of us who had worked with Sue over the years. We were all blessed to have been in her company. Her genuineness, charm, gentleness, grace were all infectious and made a lasting impression on all of us. We will miss her, but our memories of her will always be vivid for us, and we pray that your memories of her will keep her alive for you. Our prayer for all of you is that God's enduring faithfulness and the love of your friends and family will sustain you in all the days to come. The memories of your mother's love for you will sustain and comfort you until the day you all are reunited. Terry & Cindy Gentry

Robbie, Roni and Nick - from PYA to Wayside, Boswell - our lives have been inter-mingled with yours. Your Mom was a Mom to all the kids, her smile was a ray of sunshine. She will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her. There are no words that will take again your pain, but you can honor your Mom through the memories.

My prayer is that God's enduring faithfulness and the love of your friends and family will sustain you in all the days to come. The memories of your mother's love for you will comfort you until the day when you will all be reunited.

Not all of our life together turned out as we dreamed, but 3 wonderful children exceeded our fondest desires and you played a large role in that.

My memories are of a loving wife, caring mother, skilled teacher, and a woman dedicated to family, friends, and community.
In Loving Memory

The news of your loss spread quickly among those of us that had worked with Sue over the years. She was the best person when a problem needed a solution; and add to the mix her friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile and you had Sue. I will miss her, but my memories of her will keep her alive for me, and I hope that your memories of her will keep her alive for you.
April 06, 2011
Sue I'm still in shock and can't believe you have actually left us. My heart aches for Sandra, Roni, Robbie and Nick because I know the feeling of their loss. You were the best friend anyone could ever ask for and you are missed greatly.
April 06, 2011
God looked around his garden
and saw an empty place.
He then looked down on earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be a beautiful place,
He only takes the best.

He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road getting rough
and the hills hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyes
and whispered "Peace Be Thine"

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you're not going alone,
for part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartaches could make a lane,
we'd walk a path to Heaven
and bring your home again.

I wish I could have had one more chance to tell you how much I loved you and how much I treasured your love, support and most important of all, your friendship. I'm thankful I was able to talk to you and hear your laugh, one last time before you were called home. You were a true blessing and the memories of all the fun we had will help ease the pain. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of your family. No words can mend the heartache but know there are those who care and share your loss. May you find strength in God's love and the love of your family and friends.
April 06, 2011
Praying for your family. Sue was much loved and will be sadly missed. She was a great person but most of all a great Mom and Grandmother. She loved you all dearly.
April 06, 2011
Sue, I can't believe your gone and I will miss you so very much.
Sandra, Roni, Robbie, and Nick; my heart aches for you because I know how very much you loved Sue and how close your whole family has always been. I'm praying for you all to have the strength to make it through these difficult days.

Mama Sue Comes Through

Mama Sue was a was a wonderful mother that would do anything for her children.  I'd like to share one such instance.  Roni had just had Logan 6 weeks prior to our wedding and with Caden only two it was a handful to say the least.  When Heath wasn't able to come with Roni Mama Sue volunteered to come with her for the weekend and care for the boys so Roni could enjoy all the festivities and be a bridesmaid.  It was just like her to step right up and help out.  I am ever grateful for her helping out and am so thankful that she was able to come and enjoy our wedding as well.  This was the last time I got to see her and am so thankful I had that, although it was 5 years ago.

I'll never forget the story Roni told about their check-in to the motel.  The Ranch Motel in Mathis was the only really close option for a room and the rooms weren't all that bad so that is where we had people stay the first night.  The place had been bought by muslims and when Roni and her mom arrived the men were praying on their magic carpet and wouldn't check them in until they were done.  Mama Sue, looked at Roni and exclaimed, "RONI, WE DO NOT HAVE TO STAY HERE!"  I still laugh, she was just like a mother hen taking care of her kiddos.  The motel ended up being just fine, but the ownership provided less than desireable service for a group that had most of their place rented for the weekend!

Mama Sue, thanks for raising such a great girl and always helping out when the time came.  I know you are greatly missed here on Earth, but I also know you are smiling down proudly from heaven at the legacy and memories you left behind.  We will all be so happy to share funny stories again in heaven.
